AMBUCS Park, Jean Driscoll Pavilion
AMBUCS Park, Jean Driscoll Pavilion
This is our best park for those in our community who use wheelchairs or have difficulty walking, including an accessible playground among other amenities. At 22 acres deep, there’s plenty of amazing trees to sit under. That's a lot of space for picnicking, socializing, or dancing, and The Illini Swing Society would love to share this space with a community of fellow dancers. Bring a blanket, a chair, and if you want to share, we'll have a party that can last from over here to over there!
Parking: Available on site.
Bus: There is no direct bus service to AMBUCS Park on Sundays. However, 110 Ruby stops a 6-minute walk away at University & Hickory.
Hamilton Walker’s
201 N Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820
Sunday Evening (7-9pm)
Want to add a little history to your atmosphere? Check out Hamilton Walker’s, named for two historical landmarks. First for Champaign's first grand theater, The Walker Opera House, built around 1887. It was for performers...like you; before it eventually became Hamilton Hotel. Now, this circa-1880s upscale steakhouse is where you can enjoy drinks, dinner, desserts, AND dancing. You can also enjoy their outdoor dining to meld with the locals or simply cool off. Our monthly social dances happen here, and it's anything but old hat.
Parking: All street and garage parking is free on weekends.
Bus: Sunday bus service ends before 7pm, but some routes (100 Yellow, 50 Green) have daytime service that ends between 6-7pm.
